Delete your account
Last updated: September 2026
You can delete your Courtlines account, and everything personal we hold with it, from inside the Courtlines app. You do not need to call anyone, email support, or wait for us to action a request — the whole thing happens on your own device and takes effect immediately.
Delete your account from the app
- Open the Courtlines app and sign in.
- Tap Me in the bottom tab bar.
- Under ACCOUNT, tap Delete account.
- Read the summary. It shows your own upcoming bookings, active memberships, and wallet balance, because deleting forfeits all three.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field to enable the button.
- Tap Delete account. You are signed out straight away and can no longer sign in.
If you no longer have the app
Email hi@courtlines.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. Reinstalling the app and using the steps above is faster, and it is the route we recommend.
What happens the moment you confirm
- Active memberships are cancelled immediately. The current period is not pro-rated.
- Upcoming bookings are cancelled and the court time is released. These are not refunded.
- Saved payment cards are detached and deleted.
- Push notification registrations are removed, so nothing tries to reach you.
- Your sign-in is deleted permanently.
If you want a refund, do that first. Deleting your account refunds nothing. Cancel the individual booking or membership through the normal cancellation flow — that path honours the usual refund rules — and delete your account afterwards.
What we delete
Your sign-in is removed outright, and your profile is stripped of everything that identifies you: name, email address, phone number, pronouns, date of birth, home ZIP, profile photo, emergency contact, dietary notes, court and program preferences, bio, accolades, any coach profile, device identifiers, tags, your DUPR link and cached rating, and all marketing and notification preferences.
What we keep, and why
We keep the minimum needed to stand behind money that already moved, and nothing else:
- A staff-only record of your name, email, and phone number, together with what the deletion cancelled and your wallet balance at the time. Without it, a chargeback or a tax query months later would point at an account with no name on it and the club could not answer it.
- Booking and order history, which we are required to retain for accounting and tax purposes. These records no longer carry your name — they point at an anonymised account.
- The reason for any ban, if your account was banned. This stops a ban being cleared by deleting the account and signing up again with the same address.
We hold these for as long as applicable tax, accounting, and legal obligations require, and delete them when that lapses. Your preferences, ratings, photos, emergency contacts, and DUPR data are not part of this and are gone for good.
One case that stops a deletion
If you are the only administrator on a club account, we block the delete — otherwise the club would be locked out of its own admin panel with no way back. Give another staff member the administrator role first, then delete your account. Ordinary member accounts are never blocked.
Signing up again
Deleting releases your email address, so you are free to create a new account with it later. It starts empty: the old account cannot be restored, by you or by us.
